Interviews3D, the high-performance model navigator, based on Visibility-guided
Rendering is revolutionizing interactive handling and real time visualization of
large-scale CAD models. Now, fully detailed 3D models of automobiles, airplanes
and industrial facilities can be viewed and edited interactively on a PC or laptop,
regardless of whether they consist of several 100 million polygons or many billions.

3DInteractive GmbH releases its redesigned and improved version of Interviews3D model navigator with an array of new features.
- Real-time navigation through 3D models with almost unlimited data size (tested on models with over 100 gigabytes of data, several billion polygons, and millions of objects) based on 3DInteractive's visibility-guided rendering (VGR) technology
- Improved visual quality and performance: Automatic level of detail control optimizes pixel-accurate image quality while maintaining interactive frame rates
- Multi View: Multiple interactive views of the actual database can be displayed simultaneously
- Multi Database: Loading and editing multiple databases simultaneously, or ompose scenarios with several databases and overlay in one view.
- Standard and advanced graphics features:
- Diffuse, specular and transparent material properties, multiple light sources
- Uses hardware smooth or flat shading, anti-aliasing
- Full texture support, multi-texturing, environment maps
- Hardware shader support (optional): Programmable GLSL pixel and vertex shaders can be imported and rendered in real time with 3D models
- Material editor: Interactively assign and change graphic attributes
- Selective Update: Dynamically adding, changing or deleting parts in large models within seconds
- Quick Update: Instantly view changes after Selective Updates
- Faster overall geometry import and caching (improved two- to six-fold over previous versions)
- 3D Object picking and highlighting (several million individual objects)
- Hierarchical object structure and object browser for millions of objects
- Interactive part and assembly editing by dragging and exact numerical positioning
- Animation: Continuous motion simulation (via programming interface)
- Intuitive camera control via mouse or space mouse interaction
- Annotations: Annotate objects and assemblies with additional information (text or free format user data)
- Measuring tool: Interactively measure distances
- Mouse-over identification of objects "on the fly"
- Cross-sections: Up to 6 clipping planes can be applied simultaneously
- Laser-scan data visualization. Billions of laser points can be directly visualized in real-time (no mesh generation required) - Overlay CAD Data with laser scan data.
- Stereo display (optional): Split-screen or quad-buffered stereo modes supported
- High-resolution image capture: Screenshots and high-resolution pictures may be generated and saved in compressed or uncompressed formats
- Camera animation: Interactively editable camera paths and replay for automatic presentations and video generation
- Video generation: Image sequence automatically generated from camera animation (custom and standard TV resolution, HDTV)
- Data importer: VRML/Inventor
- Directly import and assemble CAD data from various native formats (additional CAD plug-in required)
- Data compression and encryption
- Operating systems: Win32 (64) or Linux 32/64
- FlexLM licensing manager (single node-locked and floating licensing option) or hardware dongle
Optional Modules:
- VGR-SDK: Software development kit for integrating the VGR technology in proprietary products
- Clash detection
- CAD converter: Importer for CAD (most industry formats supported)
